In recent years, the Ministry of Agriculture has attached great importance to laboratory quality management in the animal disease control system, and has successively launched assessments of veterinary system laboratories and testing capability comparisons.

It is understood that inter-laboratory testing capability comparison, as a method for evaluating laboratory work capability, has long been widely used worldwide, and China's health system and quality inspection system also use this method as a means to evaluate, manage and improve laboratory testing levels. The average accuracy rate of testing capabilities of provincial-level veterinary system laboratories rose from 78.1% in 2011 to 100% in 2015. The year-by-year increase in the accuracy rate of comparison results indicates that the main animal disease testing techniques of provincial-level veterinary laboratories are becoming increasingly stable, the testing systems are stable, and the testing results are reliable.
