What is the relationship between orchid stem elongation and temperature difference and light?
Yingchun (Welcoming Spring), discovered in 1989 at Lanting, Shaoxing. Selected, bred and named by Ye Zhiqing. This flower is excellent in flower shape, flower color, flower keeping quality and flower stem height; only the leaves are slightly long. Yingchun is not widely circulated among orchid enthusiasts, and it can even be said to be little known, which is quite a pity!

During the stem elongation period, light exposure should be low, and the light source should be positioned at the top, so that the flower stem will be tall and straight.
Watering should be based on the specific variety; generally, the last watering is given at the small bud stage, and then water again 5 days after the flowers open.
Stem elongation is the same principle as leggy growth of the seedlings, and the same principle applies to spring orchids and Cymbidium faberi. To see good flowers, it is necessary to keep the temperature stable and the light weak; letting the flowers open too quickly is not good.
For Cymbidium faberi, 15 to 20 degrees is most suitable, allowing it to open slowly. If the temperature is too high, the flowers open quickly and it is difficult to get a good flower form; if too low, it is not conducive to stem elongation!
