The reporter recently learned from the Ministry of Finance that in 2015 the central government allocated 500 million yuan in agricultural production disaster relief funds, and together with the 150 million yuan issued in advance in 2014, the central government arranged a total of 650 million yuan in agricultural production disaster relief funds for 2015, to provide appropriate subsidies for the prevention and control of crop pests and diseases, support the nationwide unified prevention and control of crop pests and diseases, and prevent and control the adverse effects of crop pests and diseases on agricultural production.
It is reported that preventing and controlling pest and pathogen sources during key periods of agricultural production can effectively prevent explosive, migratory and epidemic crop pests and diseases, and achieve “snatching grain from the mouths of pests” to ensure a bumper harvest. The Ministry of Finance requires all localities to allocate funds promptly, effectively strengthen oversight, ensure that agricultural production disaster relief funds are used exclusively for their designated purposes, and improve the efficiency of fund use. Recently, the Ministry of Finance will continue to closely monitor the occurrence of crop pests and diseases, promptly arrange funds to support the prevention and control of the development and spread of pests and diseases, and do a good job in disaster resistance and production protection.
