It was first discovered in early 2009, when there were only 3 seedlings of dragon-root grass. Later, after more than four years of careful cultivation by Gao Zhigang and Xiao Feng, the two orchid enthusiasts and owners of Zhihe Orchid Garden in Dali City, this rare variety was well protected. This orchid bloomed for the first time in January 2012. The flower is a true-form plain-color lotus-petal type. After more than a month, its bloom and flower appearance remained unchanged, with extremely high ornamental value, and it has been admired and marveled at by orchid growers from various places who came drawn by its fame.

The leaves of this orchid variety are 25-30 cm long and 0.6-0.8 cm wide. Every flower is identical, belonging to the medium-flower true-form plain-color lotus-petal variety. The three outer petals have constricted bases, expanded angles, and cupped tips, with level shoulders, arranged in a "pin" character shape, and a thick, substantial texture; the petaloids are short, round, broad, and large, the two petaloids embrace with proper proportion, the petaloids are mussel-shell petaloids, the lip is a large round lip, and the center is full and complete. All petals of the whole flower are glutinous in texture, upright and elegant yet light, combined just right, with a dignified bearing, ice-clear and jade-pure, clear and elegant, delightful.
