Introduction to the Jiuding Suhe Lotus-Petal Orchid Variety

Jiuding Suhe was discovered on Jiuding Mountain at the border between Midu and Xiangyun in Dali Prefecture. Jiuding Mountain is rich in minerals and shrouded in mist and clouds, creating a unique geographical climate suitable for the growth and variation of orchids. It mainly produces broad-leaf lotus-petal orchids and is a great place for nearby orchid enthusiasts to find resources. Because Jiuding Su is so few in number and has been divided into too many single plants, it has rarely come back into bloom in recent years, and few people know of it. It was not until this year's Dali Orchid Show that orchid enthusiasts from Midu managed to grow two pots with flowers for the exhibition, and they won the silver and bronze awards at the Dali Orchid Show. Once this flower is grown strong, it belongs to the broad-leaf lotus-petal type; the leaf width can reach 1.2 cm, and the leaf length is 40-50 cm. The plant form is imposing. It usually opens 4-5 flowers, making it a multi-flowered orchid. The large round tongue is pure and clean, and the outer petals form a hood. Strong plants often produce lotus-petal-type flowers. It is a rare broad-leaf lotus-petal pure-color flower.
