In the vast rural areas, there is an active group of such “local experts” and “field scholars”; they are local talent who have long struggled in all walks of life and on all fronts in rural areas, and they exert a strong influence and exemplary role on the younger generation in rural areas. Comprehensively strengthening the training of rural youth and actively developing rural local talent is very important and extremely necessary for promoting the healthy and rapid development of the rural economy and society and for solidly and steadily advancing the construction of the new countryside. To this end, the following three aspects of work need to be done well:

First, actively seek policy, project, and measure support to build a service platform for the growth of rural local talent. Rural grassroots organizations and related departments such as agriculture and labor security should attach great importance to the education and training of rural local talent, effectively increase investment, build service platforms for the growth of rural young talent, fully mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of rural youth, and create conditions for rural youth to be tempered and grow.

Second, young people should scientifically plan their lives in light of their own actual circumstances and learn practical professional skills for rural areas. Although rural youth today have higher educational levels than the older generation, they still lack genuine practical training in rural areas. Therefore, rural youth should, in light of their own actual circumstances, strive to learn various practical professional rural skills from the older generation, firmly take up the baton passed to them by the older generation, and make achievements.

Third, strengthen the education and training of rural youth and improve the professional skills and abilities of local talent. To comprehensively cultivate and develop rural local talent, it is necessary to gather rural youth from each village and professional and technical talent from all walks of life scattered among the people, strengthen training, and invite some experts to teach technical knowledge. In particular, local “local experts” and “field scholars” should be invited to rural fields and plots to demonstrate on site, teach by words and example, pass on golden knowledge and treasures, impart technical experience, pass on the baton well, and effectively do a good job in the work of “passing on, helping, and guiding.”
