What is the recent basic growth status of corn in Northeast China?
This year, the weather in Northeast China has been fairly favorable for crop growth, and the grain filling has basically been completed, with the crop now entering the maturity stage. Recently the weather has been dry with suitable temperatures, and the solidification and dough stage have been good. If the weather continues to cooperate, in about another 10 days it will be a good time to harvest. According to current forecasts from the meteorological authorities, the arrival time of the early frost will be normal compared with previous years, and even if it is slightly earlier, the probability of it affecting yield is relatively small.
Based on the current situation, the corn planting area in the Northeast production region has still increased slightly this year, and localized yield reductions are not large. Because the policy direction in the past two years has been oriented toward temporary storage, inventories are ample, and even if extreme weather occurs later, its impact on overall output will be lower than in previous years. In the later period, we still need to watch the introduction and formulation of policies.
Looking at specific regions:
⟦NL> Jilin Province: In Nong'an and Songyuan, plant height has basically reached between 2.5-2.8 m, and overall growth is slightly delayed, but the impact on yield is not significant; in the Siping and Gongzhuling area of Jilin, plant height is between 2.6-2.8 m, soil moisture is normal, but because there was little rainfall during the dog days, grain maturity is somewhat poor; in the Yushu and Fuyu areas of Jilin, plant height is between 2.5-2.7 m, and during the growth period there was wind and insects, causing a slight impact.
Heilongjiang Province: In the Harbin and Suihua areas, plant height is 2.4-2.6 m. The weather during the growth period was relatively good, and even if early frost reduces yield, the impact will not be large; in the Qiqihar area, plant height is about 2.5-2.6 m, overall growth is normal, the grain filling stage was slightly affected, and the yield reduction is not large; in the Jixi area, plant height is between 2.4-2.5 m, soil moisture is relatively good, and overall there is a slight increase in yield.
⟦NL> Liaoning Province: In the Jinzhou area, average plant height is 2.7-2.9 m, soil moisture is normal compared with previous years, yield is flat, and harvesting has begun in some places; in the Fuxin area, plant height is 2.7-3 m, showing slight drought, with obvious yield reductions in some areas of about 30-40%. In the Tieling area, average plant height is 2.5-2.8 m, overall crop growth has ended, yield is flat compared with previous years, grain filling was not good enough, and quality has declined slightly.
Inner Mongolia: Overall growth is good, the final dough stage has basically been completed, and there are slight yield reductions in some areas, but the impact is not large.
