National Meteorological Center discusses southern precipitation, urges good agrometeorological services for autumn harvest
On September 23, the National Meteorological Center's morning weather consultation focused on fog and haze in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the heavy rainfall weather process in the Sichuan Basin and the Northwest region, urging good agrometeorological services for autumn harvest and autumn sowing.
He Lifu, chief forecaster of the National Meteorological Center, introduced that today and tomorrow, the main rainfall area will be located in West China, with light to moderate rain in southern Gansu, central and southern Shaanxi, and eastern Sichuan, and heavy rain in some places. Northwestern and southern Yunnan, central Northeast China, and southern Jiangsu will also see obvious rainfall processes.
At present, during the autumn harvest and autumn sowing period, the autumn harvest agricultural weather forecast produced by the National Meteorological Center shows that from September 23 to 25, the rainfall process in Northeast China is unfavorable for crop maturation and harvest; there will be moderate to heavy rain in Southwest China and Jianghan and other places, with rainstorms in some places, which is also unfavorable for autumn harvest and autumn sowing.
Information from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Environmental Center shows that on September 23, Beijing's air quality will be mainly excellent to good, while central and southern Hebei, affected by residual particulate matter, will have mild haze; on the night of the 23rd, Beijing, Tianjin, and parts of Hebei will have light fog; on the night of the 24th, affected by cold air, the fog and haze will gradually dissipate.
As the Autumn Equinox arrives, most parts of China have entered cool autumn, and temperatures in northern regions will further decline. The southward cold air meeting the gradually weakening warm and humid air will form the phenological characteristic of “one autumn rain, one cold spell”. Meteorological experts remind the public to pay attention to adding clothing, and the elderly, children, and people with weaker constitutions should guard against various diseases that are prone to occur during seasonal transitions.
