Notice on Announcing the 2016 Wheat Minimum Purchase Price

Fa Gai Jia Ge [2015] No. 2301

To the development and reform commissions, price bureaus, finance departments (bureaus), agriculture departments (bureaus, commissions, offices), grain bureaus, and branches of the Agricultural Development Bank of all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government:

In order to protect farmers' interests and prevent “low grain prices hurting farmers”, in 2016 the state will continue to implement the minimum purchase price policy in the main wheat-producing areas. After comprehensively considering factors such as grain production costs, market supply and demand, domestic and international market prices, and industrial development, and with the approval of the State Council, the minimum purchase price for wheat (third grade) produced in 2016 is 118 yuan per 50 kg, remaining unchanged from the 2015 level.

In view of the fact that large-scale wheat sowing is about to begin, all localities should earnestly publicize the minimum purchase price policy for grain, guide farmers to plant reasonably, and promote the stable development of grain production.
