Modern agriculture calls for more new farmers
A friend of the author started a family farm, handling aquaculture himself, and after his daughter graduated from university she returned to her father's side to help with online sales, and the business is booming.
Nowadays, a group of university graduates are throwing themselves into family farms, becoming a new force in the development of modern agriculture. Their practice proves that today's agricultural production is no longer high-intensity, low-output traditional agriculture, but modern agriculture with internet attributes and a younger, more strategic character. To advance the transformation and upgrading of traditional agriculture into modern agriculture, we cannot do without knowledgeable, capable “new farmers”.
Agricultural transformation depends on talent. At present, the ranks of agricultural production and management are mostly veterans of the agricultural front; although they have certain traditional practical experience in agricultural production, their scientific and technological knowledge is insufficient, and they lack staying power for developing modern agriculture. As the pace of agricultural modernization accelerates, agricultural production is constantly moving away from traditional planting and breeding experience and gradually advancing toward standardization, facility-based operation, automation and specialization. Some family farms recruit university and secondary vocational school graduates to take part in production and management, forming a “golden partnership” production and management model; such family farms develop in a healthier and faster way.
⟦NL> Therefore, we should bring in “new farmers” with professional knowledge and skills to strengthen the modern agricultural ranks, combine the new with the old, complement each other's strengths, give full play to the role of “new farmers”, and realize the dream of getting rich through agriculture.
