China's first agricultural exhibition development report officially released
On October 26, the "China Agricultural Exhibition Development Report (2015)" was officially released. This is the first industry development report in the field of agricultural exhibitions in China, and it also excerpts the list of outstanding agricultural exhibitions of 2014, introductions to 8 5A-level agricultural exhibitions, and the classification and recognition index system for agricultural exhibitions, which is conducive to further guiding the scientific and healthy development of agricultural exhibitions.
“Agricultural exhibitions have played an irreplaceable role in displaying the achievements of agricultural and rural development, promoting agricultural product trade, expanding circulation channels, cultivating agricultural brands, and strengthening agricultural exchanges and cooperation.” said Zhang Hecheng, Director of the Market and Economic Information Department of the Ministry of Agriculture. To implement the requirements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the Ministry of Agriculture, based on recent years of work practice, organized an expert team to conduct systematic analysis and in-depth research and compiled the "China Agricultural Exhibition Development Report (2015)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"), aiming to help all sectors fully understand the current development status of China's agricultural exhibitions, identify the problems existing in the development of China's agricultural exhibitions, learn from the experience of branded exhibitions in developed countries, and explore how to cultivate China's agricultural exhibition brands.
The "Report" is divided into five parts. The first part expounds the relationship between agricultural exhibitions and modern agriculture, and summarizes and proposes five development stages of agricultural exhibitions and their characteristics; the second part analyzes the industry status of China's agricultural exhibitions, and uses survey and statistical data to focus on introducing the stage-specific characteristics of China's agricultural exhibitions; the third part summarizes and proposes the problems existing in agricultural exhibitions and the challenges they face; the fourth part introduces advanced international experience in holding exhibitions; the fifth part looks forward to the development trends of agricultural exhibitions, and focuses on putting forward targeted policy recommendations on transforming the government's functions and positioning in the development of agricultural exhibitions and giving play to the role of market mechanisms.
⟦NL> Zhang Hecheng introduced that compiling and releasing the "Report" serves, on the one hand, to accurately position the government's role in the development of agricultural exhibitions. The public welfare nature and development status of China's agricultural exhibitions determine that the government is the most important influencing factor in their development process. The government should actively adjust and transform its role, make overall plans, and incorporate agricultural exhibitions into the construction of the agricultural product circulation system; on the other hand, it is necessary to guide, support, and regulate agricultural exhibitions in a targeted manner, and focus on cultivating branded exhibitions. Efforts should be made to advance the marketization process of agricultural exhibitions from three aspects: cultivating mature market entities, establishing market norms, and encouraging free market competition. The cultivation and development of branded agricultural exhibitions should be incorporated into industrial development planning. By strengthening innovation awareness in agricultural exhibitions, standardizing the exhibition-running behavior of agricultural exhibitions, and cultivating exhibiting enterprises and exhibition culture, more branded agricultural exhibitions with international influence should be created, promoting the marketization, specialization, internationalization, branding, and informatization process of China's agricultural exhibitions.
