Appraisal Meeting for New Black Fungus Variety "Sensheng No. 1" Held in Shaanxi

Not long ago, Huang Qinglin, a teacher from the Department of Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology at Hanzhong Vocational and Technical College in Shaanxi, along with 7 experts from Shaanxi University of Technology, the Municipal Agricultural Technology Center, and the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, was invited to participate in the variety appraisal meeting organized by the Variety Management Section of the Shaanxi Provincial Seed Management Station for the new black fungus variety “Sensheng No. 1” jointly bred by Shaanxi Sensheng Mushroom Industry Technology Co., Ltd. and the Shaanxi Edible and Medicinal Fungi Engineering Technology Research Center.

At the appraisal meeting, the experts evaluated the new variety based on their many years of practical experience. Teacher Huang Qinglin raised questions to the breeding unit regarding the bottleneck factor he was most concerned about that threatens black fungus production—the rain-resistance problem of black fungus—and pointed out that during cultivation and management, management should be strengthened to prevent the flow-ear phenomenon and to give full play to the excellent rain resistance of “Sensheng No. 1.”

The holding of the appraisal meeting for the new black fungus variety “Sensheng No. 1” is of great significance to the scientific research and production of black fungus in Hanzhong City and will effectively boost the progress of Hanzhong's black fungus industry.
