Guangxi Accelerates the Development of a Distinctive Edible Mushroom Leisure Industry

In recent years, Guangxi has vigorously developed its edible mushroom industry according to local conditions, with remarkable results. In 2014, the region's total output of fresh edible mushrooms reached 1.2524 million tons, ranking tenth nationwide, a 266-fold increase over 10 years earlier; the total output value reached 10.899 billion yuan, once again surpassing 10 billion yuan, a 738-fold increase over 10 years earlier. The main varieties include oyster mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, button mushrooms, and shaggy mane mushrooms. At the same time, the region integrates the popularization of edible mushroom culture, sightseeing and picking, leisure food-tasting experiences, and deep processing of products, actively developing the leisure edible mushroom industry, achieving diversified development, and extending the industrial chain.
