Seed zucchini is expected to take root and bloom in Shandan, Zhangye

In 2015, the Hongrun Planting Professional Cooperative of Shandan County introduced new seed zucchini varieties Ziyou No. 9 and Jinfeng No. 9 from Jiuquan Kaidi Seed Industry Co., Ltd., Minqin Faze Seed Industry Co., Ltd., and other units, and for the first time achieved successful cultivation in our county's Qingquan Town Xijie Village, Beitan Village, Chenhu Town Ximen Village, Wangcheng Village, and other places. According to surveys, seed zucchini in our county is best sown with plastic film mulching from April 30 to May 10, with 2200-2400 plants retained per mu, and seed yield per mu can reach 100-130 kg. At the order purchase price of 15 yuan per kg, the output value per mu reaches 1500-2000 yuan, and the average net income per mu is 600-800 yuan, with the highest exceeding 1000 yuan. At present, several planting professional cooperatives in our county have reached letters of intent with several seed companies and marketing enterprises in Jiuquan, Jinchang, Wuwei, and other places, and order contracts will be signed around the Spring Festival. It is expected that in 2016 the area planted with seed zucchini in our county will exceed 10,000 mu. Seed zucchini is suitable for planting in the lower part of the second-class areas and in the first-class areas of our county, that is, in areas below 1800 m above sea level.
