Jiangxi Province Seed Association 2015 Annual Work Conference Held

On December 29, 2015, the Jiangxi Province Seed Association held its 2015 annual work conference. The main leaders of the provincial seed association, relevant responsible persons, heads of some business sections of the Provincial Seed Management Bureau, and 24 member units of the Jiangxi Province Seed Association attended this meeting.

At the meeting, the main leaders of the provincial seed association summarized the association's work in 2015: First, 4 sessions of the Jiangxi Province Seed Industry Youth Forum were held, with well-known experts from inside and outside the province hired to give special lectures and exchanges; second, three units including Xiannong, Xiandai, and Keyuan were organized to participate in the national seed "Double Exchange Conference," and exchanges and cooperation were organized with research institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the China National Rice Research Institute; third, the association took the lead in conducting direct-seeding variety trials to screen the main direct-seeding varieties promoted in our province; fourth, the association actively responded to sudden rice blast incidents, with very good results. Subsequently, work for 2016 was deployed, and seed enterprises were warned to strictly abide by the newly revised "Seed Law," uphold the bottom line of seed quality, strictly prohibit variety infringement and counterfeit behavior, and strengthen awareness of variety risk warnings.

At the meeting, the section chief of the Market Management Section of the Provincial Seed Management Bureau gave a key interpretation of the new "Seed Law" and related supporting management measures; the heads of three major seed enterprises in our province respectively made statements expressing their commitment to maintaining seed prices within a reasonable range, standardizing production, and operating with integrity.
