Yesterday morning, the Min'an Community of Beixinqiao Subdistrict joined hands with volunteers from the caring enterprise “e+ Cai Daojia” to carry out the “Winter Warmth Giveaway——Free Organic Vegetables” activity. Every resident aged 60 and above could receive a packed one jin of fresh vegetables, attracting hundreds of people to line up.

At the scene, it was seen that early in the morning the volunteers tied up the organic vegetables freshly picked from the vegetable greenhouse and transported them to the Min'an Community. In the plastic boxes were neatly stacked already-packed baby bok choy, garland chrysanthemum stems and small radishes. Just after 10 a.m., hundreds of residents were already lining up to receive vegetables, and some enthusiastic resident volunteers even helped maintain order.

“This activity is mainly for the people, to make things convenient for them and benefit them, so that ordinary people can eat safe vegetables and free vegetables right at their doorstep.” said Zhang Chunmei, director of the Min'an Community Residents' Committee. This activity was mainly aimed at distributing to elderly people in the community aged 60 and above, involving more than 300 people in total.

In addition, volunteers and community workers also delivered vegetables to the homes of those in the community with limited mobility, elderly people living alone and people with disabilities. At the same time, the community also established a long-term paired assistance mechanism with the caring enterprise to pass on the love.
