For a long time, Leiyang City has taken the Ministry of Agriculture's “Vegetable Basket” product production support project as an opportunity to vigorously promote the “large-scale planting, standardized production, commercialized processing, branded sales, and industrialized operation” of vegetables, and the construction of the vegetable standard park of the Lvran Planting Professional Cooperative located within Yuqing Township has achieved remarkable results.
The standard park covers an area of more than 1200 mu, and 20 steel-frame greenhouses of 8×40m have been built, 5000 m of irrigation and drainage ditches have been constructed, 3000 m of tractor roads have been upgraded, a vegetable processing plant of 300 sq m and 5 water storage tanks of 10 m³ have been built, and drip and sprinkler irrigation facilities for 100 mu have been improved, achieving complete water, electricity, road, and facility support and ensuring stable yields despite drought or excessive rain. At the same time, the park has established a series of rules and regulations including agricultural input management, production file management, product testing, product market release, and quality traceability, and has formulated standardized production technical operating procedures for more than 10 main crops such as cucumber, pepper, Chinese cabbage, loofah, pumpkin, eggplant, and potato. It promotes and applies soil testing and formulated fertilization technology, and promotes green pest and disease control technologies such as insect-proof nets, sex pheromones, insect-attracting boards, insect-killing lamps, and biological pesticides, reducing the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, lowering production costs, improving vegetable yield and quality, enhancing vegetable production capacity, and safeguarding quality and safety.
