Recently, a large truck bearing a banner reading “South Vegetables Transported North” arrived at the fresh-keeping warehouse of the Shanlin Cooperative in Tuanjie New Village in Haibowan District, marking the official start of this winter's “South Vegetables Transported North” work in our city. The first batch of vegetables delivered included hot peppers, long peppers, and green beans, and the fruit was bananas, totaling 30 tons, all produced in Hainan Province.

The hot peppers, long peppers, and green beans are all grown naturally and have undergone cleaning and packaging at the production base.

According to Shanlin Company's plan, 60 tons of vegetables from Hainan Province will arrive in our city every week, with continuous supply until after the Spring Festival. After the vegetables arrive in our city, in addition to being supplied to direct-sale vegetable stores, they will also be sold wholesale at the Jinyu Market. It is understood that the “South Vegetables Transported North” program eliminates intermediate distribution links, and combined with various preferential policies and subsidies, the prices are 30% lower than similar local vegetables, playing a positive role in enriching our city's winter and spring vegetable market.

Since our city's “South Vegetables Transported North” project began implementation in 2012, it has effectively eased the shortage of vegetable supply in our city during the winter and spring seasons, stabilized vegetable prices, reduced residents' living costs, and enriched people's dining tables. The implementation of the project responds to the call of the Ministry of Commerce, broadens the sales channels for southern vegetables, and solves the problem of difficult sales of some agricultural products in southern regions.
