Cause analysis and preventive measures for deformed mushrooms
In mushroom cultivation, the following deformed mushrooms occur at a relatively high rate. The causes and preventive measures are as follows: The "landmine mushroom" is caused by excessive ventilation of the mushroom house after the coarse soil particles are sprayed wet, low temperature, too late covering with fine soil, and overly wet fine soil particles, which make the primordia of the fruiting bodies attach too low; during the growth of the primordia, they are squeezed by the surrounding soil particles, so the mushroom shape is not round and the surface carries soil, resembling a "landmine." The preventive method is to strengthen water management; coarse and fine soil should be sprayed wet at the right time and slowly; after the coarse soil particles are sprayed wet, reduce ventilation and maintain the relative air humidity in the house at about 80%

Causes of and Preventive Measures against Contaminant Infection in Northern Nameko Mushroom Cultivation
As the production volume of northern nameko mushrooms increases year by year, diseases have become severe, causing reduced yields in mild cases and total crop failure in severe cases. In fact, diseases of edible fungi are not incurable; as long as we understand their occurrence and development patterns and find effective control methods, the problem can be solved. Through years of cultivation practice, the author has identified the patterns of contaminant infection. The causes and preventive methods are presented below: 1. Late inoculation - starting inoculation only in April is too late, as the weather has already turned warm and is prone to contaminant infection. Inoculating in February-March is best, because edible fungus mycelium begins to germinate and grow at above 5°C, while molds only proliferate in large numbers above 15°C. Therefore, early inoculation should be arranged with low-temperature mycelium incubation to pass through the mold infection stage.

What to Do When Shiitake Mushroom Logs Are Burned by Heat and Rot? Cause Analysis and Preventive Measures
From late June to early August 2003, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province experienced a historically rare continuous high-temperature and low-rainfall weather lasting more than 40d, with temperatures exceeding 40°C for 14d, among which the urban area of Lishui reached 43.2°C, breaking the historical extreme and ranking first in the country. This brought serious impacts on people's production and daily life, especially dealing a devastating blow to shiitake mushroom production. The mycelium of shiitake mushroom logs, harmed by high temperatures, exhibited phenomena such as black liquid oozing, rotting and log disintegration. Of the city's 350 million bags of flower shiitake mushroom logs, 150 million bags rotted due to high-temperature mycelium burning, accounting for

Eight preventive measures for bagged shiitake mushrooms to safely overwinter the summer, explained in detail
Based on our investigation and analysis of the summer-survival problems in large-scale bagged shiitake mushroom cultivation in Xixia over more than ten years, we have summarized a set of preventive measures for bagged shiitake mushrooms to safely get through the summer. They are presented below for reference. 1. Prevent contaminated spawn. There are many factors that can cause contamination in spawn, for example: incomplete sterilization of the substrate, lax disinfection during inoculation, introduction of pathogens during inoculation operations, air forced in through the cotton plug, respiration or damage during spawn transport, inoculation with contaminated spawn, and other such reasons. If contaminated spawn is used for production, it can harbor incalculable losses. 1.1
