Characteristics and Farming Value of Wild Inner Mongolia Black Pigs

Wild Inner Mongolia black pig is a colloquial term for the free-range type of black pig in the Inner Mongolia region, generally referring to local black pigs raised by free-range or semi-free-range methods that retain a relatively strong wild nature. These pigs live year-round on grasslands, in mountainous areas and in woodland zones; they have strong foraging ability, tolerate cold and coarse feed, and can adapt to the cold, dry climate of the north.

In appearance, the Wild Inner Mongolia black pig has a coat that is mainly black, with coarse and dense hair, thick skin and a sturdy body, and strong, powerful limbs. Because of its high daily activity level, the pig's body is relatively firm and the meat is compact, with a rich aroma after stewing, and the taste is clearly different from that of ordinary pen-raised white pigs. Its growth rate is relatively slow and the raising cycle is relatively long, which is also one of the reasons for its outstanding meat flavor.
