Yellow goat farming is a livestock production activity in which yellow goats are raised. In agriculture, the term "yellow goat" mostly refers to goat breeds whose coat color is predominantly yellow, among which the Nanjiang yellow goat is the most representative; in various places, some local goats with a yellowish body color are also customarily called yellow goats. It should be noted that the wild yellow goat people often mention is actually the Mongolian gazelle, which is a protected animal, and private hunting and keeping of it are prohibited; anyone developing farming should choose legal domesticated goat breeds.

In terms of breed characteristics, yellow goat-type goats have strong adaptability and tolerance for coarse feed, and adapt well to mountainous and hilly environments. These goats grow relatively fast, and their meat is tender with a lighter mutton odor, giving them good recognition in the market. Their reproductive performance is also good, making them suitable both for large-scale meat goat farming and for smallholder scattered raising by farmers.

In feeding and management, the key links to focus on are breeding selection, pens, feeding and disease prevention. Breeding goats should be chosen from individuals with a strong constitution and appearance matching the breed characteristics; the goat shed should be built on higher ground in a dry, well-ventilated place, with room left for an exercise yard. In daily practice, grazing plus supplementary feeding can be used, combining green grass and crop straw with an appropriate amount of concentrate, while ensuring sufficient clean drinking water. Regular deworming, timely vaccination and keeping the pens hygienic can effectively reduce the occurrence of disease.

From a business perspective, the investment approach for yellow goat farming is relatively flexible; you can start with a small trial and then gradually expand the scale. Before entering the industry, it is advisable to first learn about the local market conditions and quarantine requirements, handle the relevant procedures according to regulations, and develop steadily in line with your own site and forage conditions; only in this way can risks be reduced and relatively stable returns be obtained.
