"Huangju's Son" is a cultivar name among orchids, generally considered to come from the Huangju line of famous cymbidium varieties, named because the flowers it produces resemble the form of Huangju. Although the name sounds quite ordinary, it has a decent level of recognition among orchid enthusiasts, and is often introduced as a follow-up cultivar to Huangju.

In appearance, this cultivar continues the characteristics of chrysanthemum-petal cymbidium: the petals are narrow and rather numerous, arranged in layers, and from a distance look quite like a small yellow chrysanthemum, with yellow as the main tone of the flower color. The leaves maintain the slender, firm style of cymbidium, the plant form is neat, and it is quite ornamental when in bloom, making it very suitable for displaying alongside other cymbidiums.

Care can follow that of ordinary cymbidium. The potting medium should be loose, breathable, and well-draining, commonly bark combined with granular substrate; the placement should be in bright, indirect light, with attention to shading and ventilation in summer. Water by the principle of letting it dry between waterings, avoiding long-term water accumulation in the pot; during the growing season, apply light fertilizer frequently, and after flowering promptly cut off spent flowers, which helps it rebloom the following year.

For orchid growers, these strange-flowered cultivars derived from famous varieties have both ornamental value and a certain collecting appeal. When acquiring one, it is advisable to choose a reliable source, carefully check whether the petals are well-formed and whether the leaves have disease spots; after receiving it, let it acclimatize before moving to normal care, and observe and ventilate frequently in daily care so the plant will settle into the pot more easily.
