Ammonium nitrohumate is a humic acid nitrogen fertilizer made mainly from humic acid, usually based on humic acid-rich materials such as weathered coal, lignite or peat, processed through nitric acid treatment and ammoniation. The finished product is mostly in the form of black or dark brown powder or granules. It combines nitrogen nutrients with the organic components of humic acid, making it a fertilizer variety that combines organic and inorganic materials.

In terms of characteristics, this type of fertilizer releases nutrients relatively steadily, nitrogen volatilization and loss are slower, and the fertilizer effect generally lasts longer than ordinary quick-acting nitrogen fertilizers. The humic acid component can promote the formation of soil aggregate structure, improve the soil's water-holding and fertilizer-retaining capacity, and also has a certain chelating effect on some medium and trace elements, reducing nutrient fixation by the soil. Therefore, when applied to compacted, barren or mildly salinized plots, the improvement effect is often quite obvious.

In application, ammonium nitrohumate can be used as a base fertilizer or early topdressing, and is also often used as a raw material combined with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium nutrients to process various humic acid-containing compound fertilizers, suitable for many planting scenarios such as grain crops, vegetables and fruit trees. When applying, the amount can be determined according to soil fertility and crop growth, generally applied into the soil layer in combination with plowing or furrowing, and care should be taken to keep an appropriate distance from seeds or roots.

It should be noted that this type of fertilizer should not be directly mixed for storage or application with strongly alkaline substances, so as not to affect the fertilizer effect. During storage, it should be placed in a dry and cool place to prevent moisture and caking. In fields with low organic matter content, if it can be applied together with organic fertilizer, the effect of building soil fertility is usually better.
