Cherry tomatoes are a variety of tomato with high nutritional value and excellent skin-brightening effects. They are generally a fruit that girls particularly love. So when do you start sowing and planting cherry tomatoes? Do you know the planting time and methods for cherry tomatoes? Would you like to learn about them together?

1. Sowing time: The sowing period for cherry tomatoes is generally from early August to early March of the following year in the north; from early September to January of the following year in the central and southern regions. Sowing too early makes it easy for seedling cultivation to fail, resulting in underdeveloped plants and low yields; sowing too late also makes it difficult to set fruit. When the hot and rainy season arrives, the fruit color fades and fruit cracking can also occur. So be sure to pay close attention to watering.

2. Sowing method:

1. Covering with soil: about 0.5 cm. When 4 to 6 true leaves have formed, transplant to a fixed position; a 9" to 12" pot can be used

2. Fertilizing: Because it is grown in a pot, fertilizer can be placed in the pot at the time of potting. After that, apply fertilizer once every 20 to 30 days. At the second fertilizing, you can increase the proportion of phosphorus fertilizer and reduce the proportion of nitrogen fertilizer, or apply only phosphorus fertilizer.

3. Watering: Do not give it water as aggressively as you would other crops. Too much water causes leggy growth, fruit cracking and disease. As a rule, water once a day; if it is too hot and the leaves look shrunken, you can give an additional watering in the evening.

4. Removing buds: Keep the terminal bud and the first lateral bud of the first inflorescence in order to produce large fruit.

Time to harvest: 1.5 to 2 months. Tomatoes can be divided into six stages of ripeness,

1. Unripe stage: the tiny tomato after flowering and successful pollination

2. Mature green stage: the fruit has reached its fixed size, the fruit color turns slightly white, and a gel-like substance forms around the seeds inside the ovary

3. Turning stage: the top of the fruit turns red

4. Pink stage: most of the fruit surface turns red

5. Fully ripe stage: the fruit is already red, but the fruit is still firm

6. Overripe stage: the flesh begins to soften
