According to the overall arrangements of the District Party Committee and the government regarding the project to advance poverty alleviation across the whole township of Nanmei Township, in order to build Nanmei Township into a model of a “beautiful countryside” and achieve the goal of a “beautiful village, prosperous people and happy residents&rdquo, the Linxiang District Agriculture Bureau, in light of actual conditions and in accordance with the requirements of ”special breeding of special species&rdquo, relied on the resource advantages of Nanmei Township to build a rainbow trout breeding experimental and demonstration base in Balaqing, Nanmei Village, Nanmei Township. Through more than half a year of effort, the first-phase 1200 sq m high-standard adult fish breeding pond and 8-mu rainbow trout ornamental fish pond have now been officially completed and put into use, and fish fry were first released on June 6, with a total of 5100 small-size rainbow trout fry and 550 kg of large-size golden trout fry released in the first batch.
The put into use of this base fills the gap in Linxiang District's lack of breeding of cold-water rare and special fish species, and will add a new path to prosperity for mountain-area residents. At the same time, through its demonstration and driving role, it will become an experimental and demonstration base for the development of Linxiang District's rainbow trout breeding industry and a training base for advanced breeding technology.
The completion of this project can drive the development of cold-water breeding across the district, cultivate new economic growth points, and promote economic development and increase farmers' income. It can greatly promote the industrialized development of local rainbow trout breeding, and play a leading and demonstrative role in advancing the comprehensive development of Linxiang District's rainbow trout industry and the strategic adjustment of the agricultural structure.
