For Dracaena fragrans, choose sandy loam soil and ensure good drainage. It can be placed on a balcony with sunlight, but it must not be exposed to harsh sun for long periods. The suitable growing temperature is between 20-30°C, and the overwintering temperature must not drop below 5°C. Keep the potting soil moist, never waterlogged, and simply apply additional fertilizer as needed.

Cultivation Methods and Precautions for Dracaena fragrans

1. During storage and transport, Dracaena fragrans does best at a temperature of 16~18°C and a relative humidity of 80{bf}~90{bf}, and can tolerate 15 days in a dark environment. However, if the temperature during storage and transport drops below 8°C, the plant is prone to cold damage, and excessively low air humidity will cause severe necrosis of the leaf edge tissue.

2. Strong sunlight in summer will cause the leaves to turn yellow or the leaf tips to scorch, so shade should be provided and brighter indirect light given; although it is also shade-tolerant, an overly shady environment will make the leaf color dull, especially for variegated varieties, whose leaf markings easily fade, reducing their ornamental value.

3. During the growing period, keep the potting soil moist at all times; too much watering combined with poor drainage easily causes root rot. If the potting soil is too dry, growth will be poor. In summer, spring, and autumn, frequently spray water on the leaves, stems, and surrounding ground to increase air humidity. If the air is too dry, new leaves easily curl and may even partially dry up, causing poor leaf expansion later on.

Overall, growing Dracaena fragrans is not difficult, but everyone should also remember to care for it more, watering and fertilizing patiently, so that it can grow better.
