Latest interpretation of the flower language and legend of Baby's Breath
The flower language of Baby's Breath is longing, purity, dreams, and sincere love. It is a favorite of refined and elegant people, and it embodies the meaning of “purity, far-reaching aspiration, and romance”. A cluster of dainty, delicate, pure white little flowers, loosely gathered together, like countless stars in the boundless night sky, hazy as mist, full of the beauty of grace and simplicity, and as tender and touching as a lover's breath. When a gentle breeze passes, a light fragrance drifts all around, making it seem even more warm and romantic.
Baby's Breath Flower Language Story and Legend One
In Greece, there were two very close sisters. They lived happily together every day, with no secrets between them. Until one day, a young man came to this small mountain village. He had fallen by the roadside, gravely wounded. The younger of the two sisters saved this young man. In his daze, the young man only remembered a pair of gentle eyes watching over him, hoping he could hold on and live. The younger sister asked the older sister to look after the young man, and then went to fetch a doctor. During this time, the young man woke up and mistakenly thought that it was the older sister who had saved him. That night, the older sister said to the younger sister: “I have fallen in love with that young man.” And so the younger sister watched the two of them become a couple, living happily together every day.
Seeing how happy her older sister was, the younger sister hid her love for the young man again and again. Until one day, Ares came searching for the young man and arrived at this small mountain village. He threatened the lives of the whole village to force the young man to show himself. Her older sister was frightened and begged the young man to leave the village.
Just at the moment the young man agreed to the older sister's request, the younger sister drugged him unconscious, and then dressed herself as the young man. She was killed by Ares. Her blood stained the entire mountain village red, and yet the girl's soul kept hovering in the night sky, unable to bear leaving.
With her last strength, she erased the young man's memories and prayed that her older sister would give the young man happiness. After the Flower Goddess learned of this, she merged her drifting soul into the patch of grassland where the young man had collapsed after being drugged unconscious. And so, that patch of grassland became covered in speckled white petals, which is Baby's Breath.
Baby's Breath Flower Language Story and Legend Two
To be precise, Baby's Breath is not a kind of flower, but a kind of grass, a grass that can bloom with small white flowers in spring. Legend says that Baby's Breath was a young shepherd boy. Every day he drove his flock to graze on the grassland, living a carefree and leisurely life. One day, a father and daughter moved onto the grassland, making their living by herding horses. Before long, the young boy and the young girl were together herding sheep and horses by the only small river on the grassland. The water and grass by the small river were lush, and both the flocks and the herds loved to stay there. The young boy and the young girl also loved to stay there, soaking their feet in the water and watching the white clouds and blue sky above. But one day, onto the grassland
came a local tyrant. He took a fancy to the young girl and planned to seize her and take her back as a concubine. The betrothal gifts were forcibly piled up at the young girl's home. The next day she was to be taken into his household, but the young girl swore she would rather die than submit, and the young boy prepared to set out with the young girl overnight to flee this place. At night, they ran toward the small river, where a small boat was moored that could carry them across. But the local tyrant heard the news and came after them with his household slaves. The young boy and the young girl finally reached the small river. The young boy let the young girl get on the boat first, and just as he was about to board, he was struck in the heart by an arrow from the wicked slave. The young boy fell in a pool of blood. The young girl wanted to get off the boat to save him, but the pursuers had already caught up. The young boy urged the boatman to set off, and the boatman sighed and pushed off with his pole. Watching the boat leave safely, the young boy closed his eyes with a smile, and his soul slowly drifted into the sky, unexpectedly turning into a sky full of stars that lit the way for that boat sailing by night. The next day, the young boy's body had strangely disappeared. Only the river water had suddenly grown full of many fine, tiny blades of grass, covered with many white flowers. From then on, people called this plant Baby's Breath.
The flower language of Baby's Breath is: purity, care, longing, supporting role, true love, and a pure heart.
