The Legend of the Louis XIV Rose

In the distant ancient Nordic lands, Shangluofan's fiancee Rose unfortunately died of illness. Shangluofan buried her in the purple crystal at the bottom of Moon Lake. After a long time, large patches of pale purple flowers grew on the crystal, and people also called them roses. It is said that after Rose died, she feared her beloved would be lonely, so her soul transformed into flowers to accompany her lover.

That was an ordinarily beautiful world. At the bottom of the lake were brilliant purple crystals, a beauty's face that never aged, the rhythmic lake water, and the melodious yet slightly sorrowful songs of the merfolk. The lake surface was covered with ice that had not melted for ten thousand years. Snowflakes never stopped, and wherever the breeze passed, flakes flew in the air. On the shore was an endless snow-covered forest, with thousand-year pines and firs tall, straight, and verdant, and herds of elk weaving among the trees. And in the wind, spirits danced. On the black marble by the lake, a handsome man in white always sat, motionless, gazing intently at the silent lake surface with deep and sorrowful eyes, like an exquisite sculpture. And the delicate pale purple rose at the bottom of the lake was the guardian flower of eternal love.

This romantic and poignant story kept spreading, until one day it reached Satan's ears. Satan is the incarnation of evil, the lord of all wickedness who hates all beautiful things. He came to the human world from the underground world, determined to destroy all of this with his own hands, to destroy the flower that testified to eternal love. The pale purple rose was finally pulled out from the crystal by Satan, and in the place where it had originally grown, a patch of colorless transparent roses immediately grew.

Shangluofan died protecting the purple rose. His blood flowed along the glistening ice layer and mixed into the crystal at the bottom of the lake, dyeing many colorless flowers bright red. This is the origin of the red rose as the guardian flower of love. As for the purple rose, the guardian flower of eternal love, it was never seen again. And in the human world, eternal love was never found again either. No matter how brilliant the emotion, it will gradually be forgotten with the passage of time.
