The latest method for converting soil-grown pothos to water cultivation
Pothos can not only be grown in water but also in soil, and pothos has particularly strong vitality. It can be converted from water cultivation to soil cultivation, and from soil cultivation to water cultivation. Under normal circumstances, the two can be converted into each other. It is just that in specific applications, we need to handle the details well so that the conversion can succeed.
In fact, the method for converting soil-grown pothos to water cultivation is very simple. You only need to take the potted pothos out of the flower pot, rinse and clean the soil off the roots, and then trim the roots appropriately. Cut off the old, weak, and thin roots that grow too slowly, then use potassium permanganate or carbendazim to sterilize and disinfect the roots, and place it in a water cultivation environment for care.
Although this process is very simple and requires only a few steps, after converting soil-grown pothos to water cultivation, we need to take careful care of it in the early stage. After all, the plant is changing from soil cultivation mode to water cultivation mode, and this change is too great. The plant has to go through an important adaptation stage. During this period, in addition to meeting its growth conditions, some details also need to be handled properly.
After converting pothos from soil cultivation to water cultivation, changing the water is the most critical part. Generally, in the early stage, it is often necessary to keep changing the water once every 2-3 days; after the plant sprouts new roots under water cultivation, you can keep changing the water once every 3-5 days; and after the plant resumes normal growth, you can keep changing the water once every 7-10 days. Whether the water-changing work is scientific and reasonable will play a key role in whether pothos can survive and resume normal growth in a water cultivation environment.
In addition, if you want pothos to survive quickly and resume normal growth after being converted from a soil cultivation environment to a water cultivation environment, besides changing the water scientifically, factors such as light, temperature, humidity, and nutrient solution are also relatively important. Generally, place the plant in a place where it can fully receive scattered light, ensure the environment is well ventilated, and at the same time the temperature and relative air humidity should be suitable. Of course, when changing the water, you can appropriately drop in a few drops of nutrient solution to ensure there are sufficient nutrients in the container to maintain the growth of pothos.
Of course, in addition to directly removing soil-grown pothos from the pot, washing the roots, and trimming the roots before converting it to water cultivation, we can also adopt the method of cutting branches from soil-grown pothos for water propagation to achieve water cultivation. Because pothos has strong vitality, water propagation is also very easy to survive, and growth is relatively rapid, so water cultivation can also easily achieve a full pot.
