How to Grow and Care for Fruit Radishes
These days many rather compact vegetables have taken over the major fruit shops and markets. We often see fruit cucumbers, but fruit radishes are not so commonly heard of, right? So what exactly are the growing methods for fruit radishes? Let's take a look!
Growing Methods for Fruit Radishes
1. Soil
Choose sandy loam soil with good drainage. The soil must not contain stones, tiles or other debris, so as to avoid deformities such as forking of the fleshy root. Normal clearing work is of course essential and can reduce the occurrence of pests and diseases.
2. Sowing
Generally, fruit radishes are sown in spring from March to April each year or in autumn from August to October. If grown in a greenhouse, sowing can be arranged from mid-October to early March. Before sowing, water the soil first, which helps level the ground.
3. Field Management
The growing period of fruit radishes is relatively short, so field management is fairly simple. It mainly involves watering and fertilizing according to growth conditions and keeping the soil loose.
Fruit radishes currently sell at a relatively high price, and quite a few customers like them, so if you are interested, you can give them a try.
