Chemical Weed Control Methods for Bupleurum Before and After Sowing and During the Growing Period
1. Pre-planting chemical weed control. For wasteland, second-time wasteland or fallow land with many perennial weeds, 10—15 days before land preparation or during the period of vigorous weed growth, spray 1000 ml of 10% systemic conductive non-selective herbicide “glyphosate” aqueous solution per mu (“Nongda” and “Feida” also belong to the same type of product), which can kill most annual and perennial weeds and has a root-rotting effect. For cultivated land with many young tender weeds, 2—3 days before land preparation, spray 250 ml of 20% contact-type non-selective herbicide “Gramoxone” per mu, which can kill all green weeds on the soil surface and reduce weed infestation during the seedling stage.
2. Post-sowing and pre-emergence chemical weed control. After Bupleurum sowing and before emergence, depending on the weed species, “glyphosate” or “Gramoxone” may also be sprayed to kill weeds that emerge before the seedlings, reducing weed infestation during the seedling stage.
3. Chemical weed control during the growing period. After Bupleurum emerges, for broadleaf weeds of the same type as Bupleurum, currently only manual pulling can be used. However, for grass family weeds, at the 3—5 leaf stage of the weeds, use 50 ml of 12.5% “Gallant” emulsifiable concentrate per mu, or 45 ml of 15% “Jingwenfade” emulsifiable concentrate, or 50 ml of 10% “Jinghecaoke” emulsifiable concentrate, or 100 ml of 20% “Nabujing” emulsifiable concentrate, diluted with 30 kg of water, and spray evenly on the weed stems and leaves with a manual sprayer, which can kill various grass family weeds. Large weeds have strong resistance, so manual pulling is still required.
