What growth dilemmas do new agricultural business formats face? An in-depth analysis by Half-Month Talk
At present, various new agricultural business formats such as urban leisure agriculture are growing vigorously. But in the course of their growth, as they become increasingly tightly integrated with factors such as capital, labor and land, some policy dilemmas have also emerged: some urban agriculture projects cannot obtain land-use quotas, so they directly start playing "edge-ball" games with land policy, or even use land illegally; some agricultural subsidy policies have poor "on-the-ground" results and provide insufficient support for the development of large-scale agriculture; some agricultural projects have accumulated a large amount of fixed assets on the land, yet these cannot become effective collateral and have become "dead assets" with no financing function. Under reform thinking, how should we respond to the "growth dilemmas" of new agricultural business formats?

From international experience, only the development of modern agriculture can make

Philosophical Reflection and In-Depth Analysis of Farmers' Land Tenure Rights
Land tenure rights are the structural relational rights through which farmers, as market economy subjects in economic and social operation, lawfully accept, use and benefit from, and exercise limited disposal and transfer of collectively owned land for a certain period through certain means. They have multiple functions of clear boundary demarcation, incentive and constraint, and optimization of resource allocation.

An In-Depth Analysis of the Institutional Logic of Farmer Cooperatives
I. The Logical Starting Point of Farmer Cooperatives From the perspective of international experience, agricultural modernization is not necessarily linked to land concentration or large-scale land management, nor does it require the elimination of small farmers and small-scale farming as a precondition; on the contrary, all major developed countries have achieved it on the basis of small

Why Have Corn Seed Prices Soared? An In-Depth Analysis of the Causes
"Last year a bag of 50,000 kernels of Demeiya No. 1 seed cost 500 yuan, this year it has risen to 1250 yuan. How can it rise so much? That's outrageous." said Pang Long, a large grain farmer in Wudalianchi City, Heilongjiang. One hao of land (one hao equals 15 mu) needs two bags of seed, so the seed cost alone increases by

An In-Depth Analysis of the Underlying Problems Behind Farmland Transfer
After the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC, the issue of farmland transfer was elevated to an unprecedented height. All parts of the country sprang into action one after another, and the intensity of the publicity, the prominence of the trend, and the ferocity of the push were enough to overwhelm all other rural work. It is estimated that by the end of 2014, the area of farmland transferred nationwide will approach or exceed 400 million mu, accounting for about 30% of the country's contracted arable land area. In terms of the scale of China's contracted arable land, this is a fairly large proportion; following this, a number of large farmers, large farms and other operating entities have emerged that occupy several thousand mu, more than ten thousand mu, or more than tens of thousands of mu of arable land through transfer, and in terms of China's per capita arable land, this is also a fairly "astonishing" concentration of scale. In November 2014, after the General Offices of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued the "Opinions on Guiding the Orderly Transfer of Rural Land Operating Rights and Developing Moderate-Scale Agricultural Operations," it will undoubtedly play a regulatory role in land transfer, and the momentum of relying on administrative means to push land transfer will cool down accordingly. But based on past experience and the complexity of China's land issues, its role cannot be overestimated. The undercurrents surging beneath China's farmland transfer deeply interrogate the author's conscience, and this serves as an opportunity to explore the related issues.
