  • Jerusalem Artichoke: Benefits, Culinary Uses, and Growing and Care Techniques

Today we are recommending a plant commonly known as the "insulin fruit" - the Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), a member of the Asteraceae family, genus Helianthus. Some flower shop owners also call it "devil's ginger" or "foreign ginger." It originated in North America, and later spread to China because of its strong adaptability and its cold- and drought-tolerant characteristics. It was subsequently found to have good medicinal value in lowering blood sugar, strengthening the spleen and benefiting the stomach, and removing dampness.
