Introduction to the Luli Apple Variety and Analysis of Its Characteristics

General News By Sophie Bennett 0 views
The Luli apple is a new fruit variety of the "snake fruit" type. It has a sweet and crisp taste, ripens around July 20th, and can be naturally harvested until mid-to-late August, with a long shelf life. As a hard-fleshed variety, it can hang on the tree for a long time while remaining crisp and sweet rather than mealy. In the initial fruiting stage, it bears fruit on axillary flower buds, with an average fruit weight of four liang; in the later stage, it bears fruit on terminal flower buds.

In the initial fruiting stage, it bears fruit on axillary flower buds, with an average fruit weight of four liang; in the later stage, it bears fruit on terminal flower buds, and the fruit is large, with large fruits reaching over seven liang, making it suitable for the trunk training system.

Advantages of the Luli apple:

1. Early ripening period. It ripens in the Tai'an area by July 20th on the Gregorian calendar. Due to climate reasons in 2019, it ripened on August 1st in the Yisen Agricultural Park. It ranks among the top among early-maturing varieties.

2. Luli has a strong ability to form flower buds; normal standard-rootstock saplings can bear fruit two years after planting. The effect is even more pronounced with dwarfing rootstock saplings. At the same time, it does not require a pollinator tree, as it has a strong ability to set fruit by self-pollination.

3. Large fruit. The average single fruit weight of Luli is 220 grams, and the largest fruit weighs 400 grams. Even if its size is not the most outstanding, Luli's color is absolutely the leader among early-maturing varieties. The fruit surface has high gloss and brilliant color.

4. Strong disease resistance and stress resistance. Because this variety matures early, pests and diseases have not yet occurred when the fruit ripens, so there are almost no diseased fruits, no insect-damaged fruits, no rotten fruits, and no fallen fruits.
