1. Introduction to the Huanghua Nuo Rice Variety

Huanghua Nuo (Huanghuazhan) was developed by pedigree breeding and hybridization using “Huangxin Zhan” as the female parent and “Fenghua Zhan” as the male parent. It has the advantages of resistance to rice blast and bacterial leaf blight, tolerance to fertilizer, resistance to lodging, and super-high-yield performance. In the double-cropping rice region of South China, it can be used for both early and late seasons; in rice regions of southern China outside the South China rice region, it can be planted as double-cropping late rice, single-cropping late rice, and mid-season rice.

2. Key Points of Cultivation Techniques

1. Sow at the right time. Sow from late May to early June, with a seeding rate of 10-20 kg per mu in the seedling field and 2-3 kg per mu for the main field. Before sowing, soak the seeds in strong chlorine preparation for disinfection to prevent disease.

2. Transplant in time and plant enough basic seedlings. Keep the seedling age within 25 days, with a plant-to-row spacing of 13.3 cm × 20.0 cm, planting 2-3 grain seedlings per hill, and planting enough for 150,000 basic seedlings per mu.

3. Scientific fertilizer and water management. Generally apply 12 kg of pure nitrogen, 6 kg of phosphorus pentoxide, and 9 kg of potassium oxide per mu. Irrigate frequently with shallow water; when the number of seedlings reaches 300,000 per mu, drain and sun-dry the field; in the later stage, keep it alternately dry and wet, and avoid cutting off water too early.

4. Pay attention to the prevention and control of rice blast, bacterial leaf blight, rice false smut, rice kernel smut, sheath blight, and other pests and diseases.

5. Harvest in time, and pay attention to the threshing and drying method to ensure rice grain quality.
