People who hear the name "Green King" for the first time are sure to be very curious about it. What kind of green plant could deserve such a domineering name? In fact, it is quite ordinary. Its leaves are very wide and large, and very eye-catching. Many people keep it indoors or in their office space, and its ability to absorb toxic gases is very strong. How can you grow more Green Kings?

I. Propagation methods

1. Division

It is best to do this in early spring, after new shoots have grown. Take the whole plant out, clean off the soil, and cut the roots apart from the bottom into several portions, and it is best for each portion to have 2 shoots on it.

Apply plant ash to the cut surfaces so they will not rot easily, then let them dry in the air before planting. Use loose soil with good drainage, do not water too much, and after about ten days you can care for them normally. For fertilizer, you can use a mix of rotten leaves and charcoal ash.

2. Cuttings

If you use this method, it is best to do it in July or August when the temperature is very high. Cut 7 to 10 cm from the top of the stem; if there are too many leaves, remove some so that moisture evaporates more slowly. The cut surface can be wrapped with sulfur powder, the air humidity should be kept at a high level, and it should be placed in a semi-shaded area at a temperature of 24 to 30°C. After about 15 to 25 days it can send out new roots, and once new shoots grow it can be transplanted into a flower pot.

II. Points to note

1. It likes warm, wet and shady areas. In summer it grows relatively fast, so put it in a shaded place and do not expose it to strong, harsh light, otherwise the leaves will be damaged. If you put it outdoors in early spring, also place it somewhere with cover.

2. Control the moisture; do not let it get too dry or too wet. In hot weather, sprinkle water on the leaves and around the plant, once each in the morning and evening. In cold weather, keep it indoors and do not let the temperature drop below 12°C, otherwise it will freeze and die. You can often gently wipe the dust off the leaves with a paper towel or wash them with water. In spring and autumn, sprinkling water should be done before noon; it is recommended not to spray in the afternoon or later. The water sprayed should be enough to cover the leaf surface but not drip off.

3. If the leaves are attacked by insects or fungi, there will be wounds. At this time, do not put it out in the rain or spray too much water. If you sprinkle water in the afternoon or at night, its condition will worsen. Spray medicine promptly for treatment.
