The strawberry is a fruit with a distinctive appearance and a fairly large number of varieties, soft and glutinous to eat with a delicate fragrance, and deeply loved by consumers. Strawberries are planted in many places, so what are the strawberry production regions? What is the profit of growing one mu?

I. What are the strawberry production regions?

There are 200-300 new varieties bred in China itself or introduced from abroad. Chinese strawberries have 13 major production regions, namely Dandong in Liaoning, Fengxian and Fuyang in Anhui, Baoding in Hebei, Yantai, Weifang and Linyi in Shandong. In addition, the planting scale in Changping in Beijing, Donggang and Xuzhou in Jiangsu, the surroundings of Shanghai, Huangpi in Hubei, and Jiande in Zhejiang is also above 10000 mu.

II. What is the profit of growing one mu of strawberries?

The cost composition of growing one mu of strawberries includes: land rent, seedling costs, chemical fertilizers and pesticides, labor and other costs. The cost of growing one mu of strawberries is about 8000-10000 yuan. If we use a greenhouse or greenhouse cultivation, we need to add an investment of 4000-5000 yuan per mu. Under normal planting management, 8000 strawberry seedlings are planted per mu, and about 5000 jin of strawberries can be harvested per mu. The average market price of strawberries is 10 yuan/jin, and the output value of one mu is about 40000 yuan. Apart from the planting cost, the income per mu is about 30000-35000 yuan. But this is only the theoretical planting profit, because yield and cost are uncertain factors, and the specific input and output need to be determined according to the actual situation.

III. Key points for growing strawberries in a greenhouse

1. Cover the shed and keep it warm at the right time

Generally, when the temperature drops below 5°C, a semicircular small arch shed should be promptly installed over the strawberry cultivation beds, covered with colorless plastic film. At the initial stage of covering the shed, attention should be paid to ventilation to prevent the temperature inside the shed from exceeding 30°C, especially around noon on clear, cloudless days with strong sunlight, when high temperature scorching the seedlings should be prevented even more. In addition, when the lowest temperature inside the shed is around 5°C, paper quilts or straw mats should be covered over the shed film at night to keep warm, and removed promptly after sunrise during the day to increase sunlight exposure and raise the temperature inside the shed, and to guard against frost damage or root rot. When entering the coldest days of winter, if the highest temperature inside the shed is below 10°C, the covering insulation material should also not be removed during the day, so as to help the strawberries overwinter safely. After the “fifth nine-day period” and the “sixth nine-day period”, when the outside temperature is stable above 0°C, the paper quilts or straw mats can be removed after sunrise during the day, but they must be promptly put back before sunset in the evening to maintain a relatively high temperature inside the arch shed. When the temperature inside the small arch shed is also stably maintained above 5°C at night, the covering can be removed, and attention should be paid to weather changes at any time, with timely ventilation to prevent high temperature damage.

2. Strengthen fertilizer and water management

Greenhouse strawberries have a long fruiting period, so on the basis of heavy application of base fertilizer, reasonable topdressing should be carried out to meet their nutritional requirements. Topdressing follows the principle of “small amounts and many times”; from covering the shed to budding, fertilizer can be applied with shallow water about once every 10 days, each time applying 10 kg of urea, 5-8 kg each of superphosphate and potassium chloride per mu. In addition, in the middle and late stages, combined with spraying, multi-element micro-fertilizers or organic nutrient solutions such as Zhibaosu can be sprayed on the leaves to increase strawberry fruit weight and sugar content. If the temperature inside the greenhouse is too high, soil moisture evaporation is large, so timely irrigation is needed. In the early stage, when the outside temperature is high, irrigation should be carried out in the evening; in the later stage, when the temperature inside and outside the greenhouse is relatively low, irrigation should be carried out in the morning. After irrigation, first raise the shed temperature, then increase ventilation to reduce humidity. Watering cannot be too frequent, and each watering should soak thoroughly. Stop watering 1 week before flowering, and water once 15 days after flowering combined with fertilization.
