Approaches to High-Quality Agricultural and Rural Development: How to Raise the Level of New Directions in Agricultural Development
In recent years, agricultural development has seen counties across China continuously expand new agricultural formats, promoting agricultural efficiency and farmers' incomes, supporting the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, and providing momentum for high-quality agricultural and rural development.
Wangzhigang Town in Baoying County
Wangzhigang Town in Baoying County has many lotus root fields, but these lotus root fields are very different from those elsewhere. The people here have adopted a new model of co-culturing crayfish, greatly increasing farmers' returns. Previously, growing lotus root alone yielded just over 2,000 yuan per mu per year; now, with crayfish co-culture, the yield per mu can reach three to four thousand yuan.
Fengjie County in Chongqing
Fengjie County has developed modern mountain-characteristic agriculture suited to local conditions, forming a characteristic agricultural development pattern of navel oranges in low mountains, olive trees in mid-mountains, and Chinese medicinal herbs in high mountains. At present, the county's navel orange planting area is 330,000 mu, with an annual output of 300,000 tons and a comprehensive output value of 2.43 billion yuan; the brand value of “Fengjie Navel Orange” has reached 18.28 billion yuan, achieving a unity of ecological and economic benefits. Fengjie has now basically embarked on a path of green development, and in the future will strive to become a green ecological strong county and a regional functional center in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
Guangxi
“Vigorously advance a new round of accelerated innovation, supporting high-quality industrial development with innovation.” To improve enterprises' innovation capacity and solve the problems of insufficient R&D investment and few innovation activities, we must use new achievements in freeing the mind to gather the mighty force for transformational development and inject more agricultural science wisdom and strength into the scientific and technological support for Guangxi's high-quality agricultural development. We must vigorously advance the building of scientific research platforms, making further efforts to create first-class research platforms; strengthen the awareness of collaborative innovation, making further efforts to cultivate first-class scientific research achievements; actively integrate into the “Belt and Road” initiative and the “southward” opening-up and development, making further efforts in opening-up and cooperation; and effectively connect scientific research with industrial development, enterprise needs, and farmers' production, making further efforts in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
Changji Prefecture in Xinjiang
This year, Changji Prefecture is focusing on launching new integrated tourism formats such as “tourism + agriculture,” “tourism + countryside,” “tourism + industry,” and “tourism + culture and sports,” building a new all-for-one tourism ecosystem. Among these, in the layout of the “tourism + agriculture” format, it is further improving the quality of 20 characteristic tourism townships, including Xijier Town in Mori Kazakh Autonomous County, by advancing the rural revitalization strategy.
Henan Province
With policy “bonuses,” the level of technology in “green agriculture” is higher. Alongside industrialized development, Henan Province's agricultural technology level is also rising. In Houyoutan Village, Tangyin County, patches of wheat, under the “high-altitude operation” of plant protection drones, complete pesticide spraying in just a few minutes, saving time and labor, greatly reducing pesticide use, and attaching “high-end” green and technological labels to agricultural production that is full of “the smell of loess.”
In agricultural development, we should look at efficient, long-term development, not just the present. In this regard, all provinces are improving the momentum for high-quality agricultural and rural development. What methods does your region adopt to improve the momentum for high-quality agricultural and rural development?
