Wheat harvest season: 70 mu of wheat can only be harvested by hand, machines are not allowed
Now it is the season when the wheat ripens, and also the season for the wheat harvest. Before the wheat harvest, wheat leaf blight and disease prevention and control should be strengthened. But 70 mu of wheat cut by hand - does that scare you?
In Shangcai, Henan, Ms. Liu planted 70 mu of wheat, and it is all ripe now, but she can only stare at the 70 mu of golden wheat waves and worry. Because the urban management comprehensive law enforcement bureau was worried about the dust raised during the wheat harvest, which would in turn affect the environmental index, it did not allow her to use a harvester, and she had to cut it by hand. This “farm woman’s 70 mu of wheat must be cut by hand” incident has aroused widespread public concern.
Today’s large-scale crop harvesting generally uses harvesters, because manual harvesting is too slow, and labor costs are also high now. If 70 mu of wheat had to be harvested by hand, the speed of harvesting and the labor costs, among other issues, would all make Ms. Liu very distressed. Moreover, Ms. Liu’s own 70 mu of wheat had already suffered large-scale lodging due to wind and rain, causing part of the wheat to begin to mold, and it needed urgent harvesting.
Relevant staff at the duty office of the Shangcai County government introduced that the 70 mu of wheat land planted by Ms. Liu is located in the county’s Caimingyuan Park, and there is a provincial-level automatic air station in the park. In addition, Caimingyuan was built to showcase the historical and cultural heritage of Shangcai County, and the park places special emphasis on ecology and nature in its environment. Local urban management was worried that the dust raised by the wheat harvest would affect the monitoring station’s data. But cutting by hand is too slow, and it is bound to affect the harvest.
After this matter was reported, the 70 mu of wheat land planted by Ms. Liu has now been requisitioned by Caimingyuan. For the sake of the environmental index, the county urban management bureau’s approach of making Ms. Liu cut and harvest the wheat by hand was inappropriate. “The harvester has already entered the field, nearly 20 mu have already been harvested, and it can be finished before dark. This kind of harvester is environmentally friendly and produces low dust.”
As for 70 mu of wheat, not being allowed to use a harvester and having to cut it by hand, the consideration in this matter was very incomplete. So what is your view on this matter?
