Where are honeysuckle essential oil and honeysuckle produced?

Honeysuckle producing areas

China is a major producer of honeysuckle. Whether in the north or the south, many provinces and regions grow honeysuckle. Among them, the three major producing areas in the north are the most famous, namely Fengqiu in Henan, Pingyi in Shandong and Julu in Hebei.

1. Pingyi County, Linyi City, Shandong Province

Although it is grown all over China, when it comes to the largest growing areas, there are mainly three, namely Fengqiu in Henan, Pingyi in Shandong and Julu in Hebei. Among them, Pingyi County in Linyi City, Shandong Province has the largest growing area, about 500,000 mu, mostly wild varieties, with a long history. Farmers here make rational use of the land, planting honeysuckle on hillsides, roadsides and field ridges. Every year, large, medium and small pharmaceutical factories such as Harbin Pharmaceutical, Jinling and Taihang all come to the Pingyi honeysuckle producing area for large-scale purchasing.

2. Fengqiu County, Xinxiang City, Henan Province

The cultivation history here is also relatively long, dating back more than 1,500 years. It is reported that in 1984 the honeysuckle cultivation area in Fengqiu County had reached 10,028 mu, and the highest honeysuckle purchase volume that year was more than 250,000 kg, and it was designated by the state as a honeysuckle production base. Fengqiu honeysuckle has excellent varieties, with thick, long and plump flower buds, bright color and good quality, a rich fragrance, and high medicinal potency.

3. Julu County, Xingtai City, Hebei Province

The county was originally a relatively poor county. Later, the county government supported them in growing honeysuckle, which not only helped them escape poverty but also made this place a relatively large honeysuckle producing area. Although the growing area is not the largest, because the honeysuckle varieties they grow are relatively good, they also have an advantage in price.
