To enable Taiwan's orchid industry to continue developing, from March 6 to 15, the 2010 Taiwan International Orchid Show will display more than 3,000 kinds of orchids at the Taiwan Orchid Biotechnology Park in Houbi Township, Tainan County. In response to the brilliant achievements of Taiwan's orchid development overseas, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, the largest department store chain in Taiwan, as its recent women's goods promotion period kicked off, also purchased a large number of 6,000 to 7,000 white orchids to decorate its stores across Taiwan. Shin Kong Mitsukoshi manager Zhou Baowen pointed out that these flowers came from Niu Ji Farm, the largest orchid farm for domestic sales in Taiwan. Using these beautiful Phalaenopsis orchids to decorate each store not only creates a fashionable sense of space, but also responds to the vigorous development of Taiwan's domestically produced flowers.
