Southern blight is one of the worldwide orchid diseases. The southern blight pathogen overwinters in soil and on diseased plants. It is especially severe between spring and summer, during the plum rain season, and in seasons of continuous autumn rain. The disease develops rapidly and often causes the affected plants to rot and wither, leading to the death of the entire plant. Many control methods for this disease have been introduced, and how effective they are need not be discussed. This article introduces a new agricultural antibiotic, Jingangmycin. This antibiotic is mainly used to control rice sheath blight, is low in toxicity, and has a concentration of 3%. When used to control southern blight, dilute with water at 500-700 times. Methods: 1: First cut off the affected parts above the base of the stem, then rinse the pseudobulbs with clean water, soak the pseudobulbs in a 500-700 times Jingangmycin solution for 1-2 hours, then take them out, let them dry, and plant them in clean, sterilized potting soil. 2: Apply a 500-700 times Jingangmycin solution directly as a drench to plants with southern blight 1-2 times, and you can see the entire process of the southern blight disappearing. If a small amount of mycelium or sclerotia remains, drench 1-2 more times to achieve complete control. The use of Jingangmycin to control southern blight has already been widely adopted among our orchid-growing friends. It is safe, simple, extremely low in price, and available in pesticide stores. Orchid-growing friends can use it with confidence. (Kong Azhao)
