Freshwater Returnees to Farming Collective Workshop First-Half-Year Activities
The Tamsui Return-to-Farming Collective Workshop has completed its January course. Through interactive discussion and stimulation, many ideas about returning to farming have emerged, and the course content for the first half of the year has now been planned out. Friends who have not yet joined are welcome to hurry and join us in returning to the embrace of the land.
1. Purpose:
Why return to farming? Perhaps many people would not consider this an option, but those who have actually come into contact with the land are all moved by the act of farming production. Yet although farming looks simple, if one wants to take it up as a profession, many problems arise, such as: what to plant? How to plant? How to sell? How to earn enough to cover living expenses? Many people are deterred by this.
This workshop is a long-term rolling group that will continue to offer courses. It will provide a place for learning and discussion for those willing to get closer to the land, or willing to return to farming, and will offer various forms of assistance, such as opportunities to actually try farming, help matching idle land in the Tamsui District, and the provision of agricultural cultivation knowledge, among others. Through such a group, it is hoped to break the traditional farming habit of working alone, to establish a sound agricultural cooperation mechanism, and to establish a complete agricultural industry chain. More people are welcome to join in participating and discussing.

(2) Outdoor farming activities
After the third week's course ends (102.2.2), farming study courses will be held on the farm land in Tamsui Caijia Village every Tuesday and Friday on weekdays. The first six weeks will be the farming study stage; after the six weeks are completed, discussions and plot arrangements will begin, plots will be allocated according to cultivation circumstances, and a cooperative cultivation model will be carried out. Because land preparation and cultivation arrangements for the outdoor farming activities mostly require expenses, a fixed deposit must be collected; if a participant attends the full period, the full amount will be refunded. Your understanding is appreciated.
