Wu Meimao, founder of "Taiwan Original Flavor," who has long promoted organic farming in indigenous communities, set up the "Wulai Demonstration Farm" more than a year ago on Xiluo'an Road in Wulai, New Taipei City. This farm is a patch of organic farmland, and also a classroom without walls or a blackboard, where local farmers, students, parents and children, and overseas volunteers all learn by doing. Part of the farm's harvest is also supplied to the nearby Seed Experimental Elementary School as lunch ingredients, so that after eating, the students of Seed Experimental Elementary curiously ask: "The cabbage today is so delicious, where did you buy it?"

In December of the year before last, teachers and parents from Seed Experimental Elementary visited the Wulai Demonstration Farm and strongly identified with the Taiwan Original Flavor team's philosophy of promoting organic food and local production, so they began buying Taiwan Original Flavor's vegetables.

Guo Tingjun, a staff member of Taiwan Original Flavor, said their cooperative relationship with Seed Experimental Elementary is not like the large-scale, intensive nature of ordinary school nutrition lunches. "Our farm and our local partner farmers, at most nearly 20 farmers are involved in production, and both the yield and the variety are limited. We also have to match seasonal vegetables, so we can only provide part of the ingredients. For example, in winter recently, cabbage and white radish are in abundant season."
