Why are cattle indispensable to agricultural development?
Every time we stand in front of the great terraced fields to give a tour, the moment people see the cattle is, as always, the most exciting part for visitors. We always tell them: in fact, most of the scenery you see is maintained or created through the cooperation of cattle and people. And this cattle landscape, once a symbol of an era, has become one of the best answers for preserving the habitat of certain specific organisms, under the goals of pursuing low carbon and material-energy cycling. Water buffalo maintain the state of abandoned-farmland grassland and even wetlands, thereby creating homes for many still-water wetland organisms (especially plants), and also opening another path for the friendly continued cultivation of water terraces. So besides the cattle egrets on the flatland, there are in fact many small living things that also often gaze affectionately at the water buffalo.
