Kenting Community-Based Ecotourism Seeks Artist-in-Residence Works for 2017

Starting in 2015, the Kenting National Park Headquarters publicly called for works by artists in residence in local communities. One after another, Lide Community, Gangkou Community, Longshui Community and Shuiwaku Tribe were given the opportunity to host artists, who each completed works there. During their residencies, the artists used their own artistic talents and a diversity of viewpoints and perspectives to create artworks combining elements of community, nature, ecology and culture. This year, the Kenting National Park Headquarters will continue to recruit artists in residence to uncover more of the different faces of the communities. Artists who are interested are welcome to take up residence in the communities, interact and enter into dialogue with residents and nature, use their energy to imagine and create on the land, and lead the communities toward broader and more diverse development.
