Where is Zhunan's first Happy Strawberry?
During the consecutive holidays in April, I planned to visit farmer friends who grow crops organically. At first the plan was to take a trip to Hualien. The day before departure, our little prince, Lucky, got sick, so I had no choice but to let him rest for a day or two to recover his strength. Because there have been a lot of people and dogs with gastroenteritis recently, I did not dare take it lightly. But this rare consecutive holiday finally gave me several days off, and I did not want to waste it, so I thought I would first visit the strawberry farm used in the popular products of Marmiton Kitchen Apprentice.

On the conditions for organic
Yesterday Mr. Hsieh asked me what I think organic means. My understanding of organic comes from France; for fruits and vegetables, organic must be discussed in terms of soil, water quality and fertilization.
The soil must be healthy, the water quality must be good, and neither may contain any additives; moreover, the source must be natural and pure. Next is the issue of fertilization, which is a serious matter. In France, fertilizing is about giving plants a healthy constitution; they need proper, healthy stems and branches to resist certain pests, just as we ordinarily eat healthy foods or take tonics to increase our body's resistance.
But this all-too-simple principle has now turned into some farmers or big corporations seeking speed and more profit, spraying large amounts of chemical pesticides harmful to human health on the fruits and vegetables we eat every day. For example: strawberries treated with growth hormones. Do they exist? Yes. After strawberries are treated with growth hormones, they grow fast and large, but the day after you harvest them, they show the phenomenon of the strawberry itself shrinking, and they are no longer the beautiful appearance you first saw.
Such cases have already appeared in mainland China: a boy who kept eating strawberries treated with growth hormones actually grew female breasts!!! Also, some strawberry farms apply 'erection agents' or 'gibberellin'. On this point I have found some materials and reports for everyone's reference; it mainly makes the rhizomes longer, the fruit larger, and the plant's leaves grow large and beautiful. As for the rest, you can look at the materials I found, and I will not repeat them here!
Since everyone growing crops has to spread pesticides on fruits and vegetables to control pests, does Happiness Strawberry Farm not need to spray? It does! But Mr. Hsieh uses natural activated enzymes to spray the strawberries. Enzymes have an activating function, naturally making the happy strawberries healthier. Of course there will also be strawberry plants that cannot be saved, but Mr. Hsieh, the director of Happiness Strawberry Farm, who insists on organic, natural cultivation, says that there is no other way; farmers just live at the mercy of the weather.
Mr. Hsieh has also tried his utmost to promote organic crop cultivation among farmers in this area of Zhunan, but the good times did not last. The Zhunan County Government actually wants to expropriate this sand plot. Where are the old farmers who have lived here growing crops their whole lives supposed to go? The farmers of Qiding, Zhunan, China need everyone's assistance to resist the county magistrate and county councillors selling off the sand plot at Qiding, Zhunan, China, and turning the natural ecology here into an industrial zone. But these are all superficial words; the real interest is the value of this natural sand plot at Qiding, Zhunan, China. Once this place becomes an industrial zone, the naturally high-quality water source and soil will also be gone!
