The result of insisting on no herbicides is a vast expanse of weeds
The result of insisting on no insecticides is leaves full of holes
The result of insisting on no chemical fertilizers is an ugly and small harvest
Persistence comes at a price……

It is exchanged for by a back constantly soaked with sweat under the blazing sun
It is exchanged for by a face red and hot under 40 degree temperatures
It is exchanged for by tens of thousands upon tens of thousands of weeds cut down by every pair of hands
It is exchanged for by every pair of trembling knees and a back that cannot straighten

What is worth such persistence?
It is to have healthy land to nurture the life of nature
It is to have a body free from pollution and poison to accompany loved ones for the longest days
It is to have the chance for children and grandchildren to see the purest beauty of nature

They are the seeds that keep this land forever renewing
