Eighteen Forest Recreation Areas, Some with Visitor Number Controls
The 18 forest recreation areas managed by the Forestry Bureau are spread across Taiwan, China, namely Taipingshan, Manyueyuan, Neidong, Dongyanshan, Guanwu, Wuling, Baxianshan, Hehuanshan, Aowanda, Alishan, Tengjhih, Kenting, Shuangliu, Zhiben, Xiangyang, Chihnan and Fuyuan.
Based on statistics of Spring Festival visitor numbers in previous years, the Forestry Bureau says that some forest recreation areas will implement dynamic total visitor caps during the Spring Festival. For example, Taipingshan Forest Recreation Area has a dynamic capacity limit of 3,000 people; when visitor numbers reach 2,800, notice will be given via electronic billboards on the highway system, and the Police Broadcasting Service radio station will be asked to broadcast a message that the area is about to be full. If visitor numbers exceed the control limit, the ticket sales and inspection station will provide a map showing nearby recreation spots, suggest that visitors first go to other nearby spots, and listen to the Police Broadcasting Service radio station at any time, entering only after other visitors have left the park.
