Natural cultivation of tankan oranges: a retired uncle grows sweet and fragrant wild-flavored fruit
Text / Hao Shi Ji
I still remember that nearly two years ago, when Uncle Zeng's daughter and son-in-law, and his son and daughter-in-law, tried to persuade him to adopt natural farming, Uncle Zeng was still a bit half-convinced. During this time, the whole family was very united and of one mind, not afraid of trouble as they made compost to improve the soil, traveled all the way to Dongshi to consult fruit tree experts, and learned all kinds of specialized knowledge, and finally, they achieved a little bit of heartwarming results.
Not only is their own orchard full of life, but the uncle next door and the neighbors have also gradually been influenced by them, and have even come to ask Uncle Zeng for advice, wanting to start converting to a farming method with no pesticides and no chemical fertilizers. Mm, this is the beginning of a community turnaround.
This year's tankan orange harvest is slow and backed up, please everyone help out
They do not have a large quantity of citrus, but unfortunately, this year our community's group purchase of tankan oranges has been backed up. Several farming friends had good tankan orange yields this year, and on top of that the Zeng family orchard harvested relatively late, so as a result we were unable to help them sell, which is truly embarrassing.....
With the Lunar New Year about to arrive, although the Zeng family is very open-minded and says it is fine if they do not sell, it would truly be a pity if such dedicated farmers could not receive some support and encouragement in terms of actual sales. So I am still recommending them once more, hoping that friends who have already bought tankan oranges can buy again.
It really is a pity. The whole family is very polite, and they are also not good at selling things, and although we call ourselves a community channel that assists small producers, we also lack the ability to help them promote sales, letting good things just hang on the trees, which truly feels awful. Taking advantage of the Lunar New Year when everyone needs citrus, let these good things come to our tables, and do not let down nature's kindness in rewarding us!
